First of all, I want everyone to know that the Lord has continued to show me these last few days, even this morning, that He is good and He is faithful. We’re all aware of the crisis that our nation is facing now with the Coronavirus pandemic and the difficult decisions that our national leaders have had to make in a very short time over the last couple of weeks. I have also struggled the last few weeks with making the right decision for what our response should be as the body of Christ, especially last night. I came to a conclusion during the night as to what we MUST do in regards to our church services and activities the next couple of weeks, especially in light of what I’ve learned this morning of confirmed cases just to the north of us. This, without a doubt, is the toughest decision I’ve had to make since being called as your Pastor.
Beginning this Sunday, March 22nd, we will be cancelling all church activities and services until Sunday April 12th at this point. This whole situation is still very fluid and rapidly changing everyday so even these plans can change.
God is in control and I believe with all my heart that He will bring us closer together and make us stronger as a church body through this difficult and uncertain time. I am praying for each of you and your families and am confident you will be doing the same for me and my family. I will be sending out further messages later today on my plans for ways we all can continue to BE the church even though we will not be AT church. I strongly urge each of you to reach out to your Sunday School members and for our deacons to reach out to members on their care list. I love each and everyone of you and ask that you please call me or one of our deacons and let us know how we may need to minister to one another and our community during these next few weeks. STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!
